Hello! As a Pokémon enthusiast and a bit of an expert on the subject, I'm here to help you with your question about the evolution of Burmy.
Burmy is a unique Pokémon because it has the ability to change its type and appearance based on the cloak it wears, which is influenced by the season. There are four different cloaks that Burmy can have: Plant Cloak, which is the default form; Southern Island form with a Grass-type cloak; Eastern Island form with an Ice-type cloak; and Western Island form with a Grass-type cloak as well.
The
evolution of Burmy goes as follows:
1. Burmy starts with a Plant Cloak, which is its default form. It is a Bug-type Pokémon.
2. When Burmy levels up, it evolves into
Wormadam, but the type of Wormadam depends on the cloak it has. If Burmy is holding a plant cloak, it evolves into
Wormadam Plant (Bug/Grass type). If it's holding a stone cloak, it evolves into
Wormadam Sandy (Bug/Ground type). If it's holding a trash bag-like cloak, it evolves into
Wormadam Trash (Bug/Steel type).
3. However, if Burmy is holding a cloak from the Southern Island (Grass-type cloak), it evolves into
Wormadam Plant. If it's holding a cloak from the Eastern Island (Ice-type cloak), it evolves into
Wormadam Sandy.
4. There's also a special form of Burmy called
Mothim, which is reached when a Plant Cloak Burmy is exposed to a Shard at level 20. Mothim is a Bug/Flying type Pokémon and does not change form based on a cloak.
5. For the special regional forms of Burmy, when they evolve, they become their respective regional Wormadams without the need for a cloak.
