A fraction with the same numerator (number on top) as another but with a smaller denominator (number on bottom) is a larger number. For example
1/
2 is
bigger than 1/3 which is
bigger than 1/
4, etc. That is because if you divide
1 by
2, you get 0.5 but
1 divided by 3 is only 0.333 and
1 divided by
