Step 1: Uninstall Hotspot ShieldTo remove Hotspot Shield from your computer, follow these steps:
1. Close the Hotspot Shield application.
2. Open the
Control Panel from the Start menu.
3. In the Control Panel, select
Programs or
Programs and Features.
4. In the list of installed programs, find
Hotspot Shield.
5. Click on
Uninstall or
Uninstall/Change.
6. Follow the prompts to complete the uninstallation.
**Step 2: Delete Hotspot Shield Folders and Files**
Once you have uninstalled Hotspot Shield, you should
delete any remaining folders or files associated with the program.
1. Open
File Explorer.
2. Navigate to the following
folders and delete them if they exist:
* `C:\Program Files\Hotspot Shield`
* `C:\Program Files (x86)\Hotspot Shield`
* `C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\Hotspot Shield`
* `C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\Hotspot Shield`
3. Delete any
registry keys associated with Hotspot Shield. To do this, press Windows + R to open the
Run dialog box. Type `regedit` and click
OK.
4. In the Registry Editor, navigate to the following
keys and delete them if they exist:
* `HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Hotspot Shield`
* `HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Hotspot Shield`
Step 3: Reset Network SettingsAfter you have uninstalled Hotspot Shield and deleted its files and folders, you should
reset your network settings to ensure that any changes made by the program are removed.
1. Open the
Settings app from the Start menu.
2. Click on
Network & Internet.
3. On the left sidebar, click on
Status.
4. Under the
"Change network settings" section, click on
Reset network.
5. Click on
Reset now to confirm.
Additional Tips:* If you are unable to uninstall Hotspot Shield using the Control Panel, you can use a
third-party uninstaller such as Revo Uninstaller or IObit Uninstaller.
