How to Reset PS4 to Factory Settings

A factory reset, also known as a hard reset, is the process of restoring a PS4 to its default settings. This can be necessary for a variety of reasons, such as when you're experiencing technical issues or when you're selling or giving away your console.

There are two ways to factory reset a PS4:


1. Using the PS4's Settings Menu:

- Turn on your PS4.
- Go to Settings > System > Initialization.
- Select Initialize PS4.
- Select Full.
- Enter your password if prompted.
- Select Initialize.


2. Using Safe Mode:

- Turn off your PS4 completely.
- Press and hold the power button until you hear two beeps.
- Release the power button after the second beep.
- Connect your PS4 controller to the console using a USB cable.
- Press the PS button on the controller.
- Select Initialize PS4 > Full.
- Enter your password if prompted.
- Select Initialize.
