Step 1: Wipe a PS4

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Power Down and Unplug the PS4

2. Enter Safe Mode

With the PS4 unplugged, press and hold the power button again. Continue holding the button until you hear two beeps in quick succession. Release the button after the second beep. Your PS4 will now enter Safe Mode, indicated by a blue light on the front panel.

3. Connect the Controller

Two initialization options will be presented: "Quick" and "Full". It's strongly recommended to choose the "Full" initialization, as it will thoroughly wipe all data from your PS4, including games, saved data, user profiles, and system settings.

6. Confirm Initialization

Carefully review the on-screen information and ensure that you understand the consequences of initialization. Once you're ready to proceed, select the "Initialize" button.

**7. Download and Reinstall System Software**

Your PS4 will now begin downloading and reinstalling the system software. This process may take some time, depending on your internet connection speed. Do not interrupt the process or power off the console during this stage.

8. Set Up Your PS4

Once the system software is reinstalled, your PS4 will restart and guide you through the initial setup process. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect to your PlayStation Network account, configure system settings, and customize your home screen.
