Esophageal cancer is often considered
aggressive because it tends to grow and spread quickly. It can be challenging to diagnose in its early stages because symptoms are not always apparent until the cancer has advanced. The two main types of esophageal cancer are squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma.
Adenocarcinoma, which develops from abnormal glandular cells lining the esophagus, has been linked to chronic conditions like
gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). This type of cancer has been on the rise in some parts of the world, partly due to the increasing prevalence of obesity and GERD.
