curability. However, if it advances to later stages, it can become one of the most
deadly forms of cancer. It is important to note that colon cancer is the second leading cause of death from cancer in America, with lung cancer being the first. Contrary to popular misconceptions, only a small percentage of patients, approximately 15 percent, require a permanent colostomy as part of their treatment.
