Having an irregular heartbeat, medically known as
arrhythmia, means that your heart is not beating in its normal rhythm. It can manifest in various ways, such as feeling like your heart skipped a beat, added an extra beat, is experiencing a "fluttering" sensation, or is beating either too fast (a condition known as
tachycardia) or too slow (referred to as
bradycardia). However, not all arrhythmias are noticeable; some are "silent" and may not cause any symptoms at all.
