Halloween is also known as
All Hallows' Eve. This name is derived from the Christian tradition of celebrating
All Saints' Day on November 1st. The eve of All Saints' Day is the night before, which is October 31st, and that's why it's called All Hallows' Eve. Additionally, in some countries and regions, Halloween is referred to as
Allhalloween,
All Hallows' Eve, or simply
Hallowe'en.
