Post-infarction angina refers to a condition where patients experience
ischemic chest pain after having an acute myocardial infarction (MI), commonly known as a heart attack. This pain can occur at rest or with minimal exertion and typically presents 24 hours or more after the initial event. It is seen in about
10 to 15 per cent of patients post-MI and is more prevalent in non-Q-wave infarctions, particularly when the damage involves the
anterior myocardial wall.
